Current Situation
All existing HS1 Defibrillators can be reconfigured to meet the pertinent aspects of the 2005 Guidelines. The device will support a single shock followed by 2 minutes of CPR. Reconfigured devices have CPR coaching at 15:2 ratio and a voice prompt to check for signs of circulation, these are not compliant with the new guidelines. A new version of software will be in available from the end September 2006.
Upgrade path
Devices supplied since 28th November 2005 can be upgraded free of charge, if requested before 31st December 2006. The upgrade will be delivered as a replacement HS1 device. The existing HS1 device must be returned to Cardiac Services for recycling by the manufacturer
Devices supplied prior to the 28th November 2005 can also be upgraded however a charge of €240.00 / £150.00 exVAT will apply per device. Again a replacement unit will be supplied with the existing unit being returned to Cardiac Services for recycling by the manufacturer.
